At 26 gestational weeks, after an amniocentesis and genetic testing, he was diagnosed with Diastrophic Dysplasia, a rare type of dwarfism.

Now 8 years old, our son Kai is happy, healthy, and enjoying life.

The purpose of this blog is to lend support and encouragement to others in similar situations and to share the tremendous experiences we've had and will continue to have as we raise our little, little boy.

What I Love About Two-Year Olds

I took my hanging baskets down to water them.  Kai wandered out onto the porch and picked some flowers...which he promptly tucked behind his ears...

...while he did a little repair work on his keyboard with his "too-uh".

And when it was adequately repaired, he played and sang a lovely original composition, which, had he given it a title, I'm pretty sure would've been Ahhhhh-ooohhhh-ahhhh'
